For this project, we were brought in to help transform the entry and family room. Since the house was painted a muddy beige, which made it feel quite dark and dated, we wanted to give it a fresh update and painted the first floor a soft milky white as a starting base.
For the entry, a new smoked glass light fixture, a glossy white console, and a patterned grey indoor / outdoor rug help ground the dramatic artwork that's displayed.
For the family room, we choose a soft greyish-blue that really helped brighten up the formerly dreary looking space. We then installed a semi custom floating media cabinet that provides tons of storage for kids toys and other small items.
A low slip-covered sofa is a perfect spot to lounge on, while the braided wool rug is cozy underfoot. We then added a brass drum coffee table (with hidden storage inside) and a moroccan pouf as extra seating when kids come over to play.
Opposite the stunning new marble fireplace and matte black insert, we added a small teak desk paired with a panton chair, perfect for doing homework or surfing the web.
Since we were working with a tight budget, plans to re-do the staircase, for now, are shelved. Additional items to come are a large sheepskin rug to further cozy up the fireplace.
